Cherokee Co. Sheriff’s Deputy Involved In A Two Vehicle Accident In Centre / UPDATED

A Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle was involved in a collision with a pickup –  Monday afternoon on West Main Street, in front of the Gridiron restaurant in Centre.

The Chevy Tahoe being driven by Cpl. Nick Vaughn was struck by a 1995 Dodge Ram 2500, being driven by 40 year old Chad Fennel of Temple, Georgia.

Eyewitnesses at the scene told WEIS Radio News that the pickup truck pulled out in front of Vaughn while attempting to make a left hand turn.

Cpl. Vaughn was examined at the scene by Cherokee EMS Paramedics fortunately he wasn’t injured; meanwhile Fennel was treated for what appeared to be only minor injuries.

Centre Police, Firefighters, Cherokee EMS and a number of other Law Enforcement Officials responded to the scene.
