A motorcyclist was transported to Redmond Regional Medical Center for treatment of what appeared to be only minor injuries in the wake of a collision with another vehicle in front of the Rome Post Office on Wednesday afternoon.

According to PFC Aaron Thacker with the Rome PD, the motorcyclist, who was identified as Emmanouil Kalargyros of Rome was traveling south on the Martha Berry Highway when he attempted to turn into the post office parking lot, accidentally crashing into a vehicle driven by Jackie Massey of a Lindale address.

Kalargyros was reportedly talking to officers prior to being taken to the hospital.

Fortunately, no one else was hurt in the accident.
