According to reports, a man claiming he had an explosive device robbed the Gadsden Check into Cash store in the Etowah Crossing Shopping Center on Tuesday morning.
The incident took place just before 11:00am; witnesses describe the suspect as being a light -skinned black male, approximately five feet nine inches tall (5’9″), and weighing about 170 to 180 pounds.
He reportedly covered his face with what was referred to as a “gauze-like” material, and he also appeared to have an injury to his face.
The man fled the area in a full-size maroon pickup, heading toward Attalla.
Fortunately, no one was hurt.
