The family of a woman struck and killed by a vehicle in Ft Payne in the early morning hours of Monday, September the 21st, is offering a $500 cash reward for any information leading to an arrest and conviction in that case.

According to Ft Payne Police Chief Randy Bynum, someone contacted his office to report an “unresponsive” female lying in the roadway at 106 10th Street Southwest; police officers as well as emergency medical services arrived on the scene to find Angela Kay Mitchell, age 54 in the roadway. She was later pronounced dead by the coroner.

An autopsy is being performed at the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences. The death investigation being conducted by the Ft Payne Police Department is on-going. Anyone with any information regarding the case can contact the police department at (256) 845-1414.
