The Cedar Bluff Town Council met in a special called session on Monday afternoon with the agenda being very light. The council passed an ordinance raising garbage collection fees for residential customers from $11.00 to $12.00 while commercial customers will see a similar increase, from $18.00 to $19.00
Mayor Tammy Crane said she understands that everyone is on a budget however this was a move that simply could not be avoided.
Another ordinance was passed creating one way streets around Cedar Bluff School with the goal being a less congested, and safer, environment for students, faculty and parents alike.
The council also passed the 2016 Fiscal Year Budget, which included a .50 cent an hour cost of living raise for town employees.
The next regular meeting of the Cedar Bluff Town Council will be on Monday, October 12th, at 5:30pm in the town hall.
