A Scottsboro man was fatally injured in a two-vehicle crash in DeKalb County early Monday morning.

Investigators say 47 year old Mario Villatoro was killed, when his pickup collided with a tractor trailer about two miles north of Geraldine.
The wreck occurred at the intersection of Highway 75 and DeKalb County Road 400 around 5:00am; Villatoro was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report indicated that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time the crash occurred. Meanwhile, the driver of the tractor trailer, 63 year old George Martin of Guntersville, was unhurt.
The accident remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
