A train hit and killed a man that was laying on the tracks 175 yards from Main Street Crossing on Saturday morning in Collinsville.
According to Collinsville police the incident happened around 8:30 a.m. Traffic was blocked for several hours as the initial stages of the investigation were carried out. The man’s body was removed from the scene and taken by the coroner.
Collinsville Police Chief Gary Bowen said that a post-mortem fingerprint analysis will be done because he has no ID, and that as of right now there has not been any calls of anybody missing.
The body has been taken to the Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy.
