A 2015 graduate of Cherokee County High School is lacing up her boots and taking that first step on her journey to serve our country as a member of the Army National Guard.

18 year old Shai Whaley of Centre left Labor Day to begin Basic Training in Ft Jackson, South Carolina, where she’ll pursue a job in Human Resources.

Cherokee County Probate Judge and Commission Chairman Kirk Day, who is also a graduate of the West Point Military Academy extended his best wishes on behalf of the county.

All of us here WEIS Radio wish Shai the best in her endeavors.
