Contract Worker Electrocuted while Working on Power Lines / UPDATED

According to a report from WHNT/Channel 19 a contract worker was electrocuted Tuesday while working on power lines in Arab.

The incident, which occurred on 12th Avenue Northeast at around 10:00am was the reason for a major power outage in the eastern portion of Arab.

The Marshall County Coroner has identified the victim as 36 year old Boaz resident William Shane Galloway, who worked for a contracting company hired by Arab Electric Cooperative

According to the coroner, he was electrocuted in a bucket truck while tying in a new line.

His death has officially been ruled accidental.
