A celebration of life service for a fallen officer is being planned in Floyd County.
Barry Sutton, who had previously worked with the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office and Floyd County PD, was killed while working as a civilian contractor in Afghanistan helping to train police officers.
He was fatally injured last Saturday (August 22nd) along with several others when a NATO convoy in was in, was attacked by a suicide car bomber.
Sutton’s body will be brought home to Floyd County this Friday (August 28th).
Sutton’s funeral arrangements have yet to be finalized; however it has been announced that Henderson & Sons Funeral Home will be in charge.
Services are expected to be held sometime this weekend at Northside Church in Armuchee.
