Two Arrested on Multiple Drug Charges After Being Found Passed Out in Car

Hillis 100On Monday, two individuals were arrested by DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, after being found passed out in their car by the roadside.

Officers responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle being spotted along County Road 50 in the Grove Oak area, and when they arrived they found two occupants that appeared to have passed out; according to the report, a hand gun was in plain view inside the vehicle.

After removing both individuals from the car deputies received consent to conduct a search which turned up Spice in the passenger seat. It was also discovered that the serial numbers on the gun had been altered. As the search continued a large amount of drug paraphernalia was found, along with a quantity of methamphetamine and marijuana.

The DeKalb County Drug Task Force responded to the scene, and the two people which had been in the car were placed under arrest.

30 year old William Duke, of Albertville, and 25 year old Cortney Hillis of Oxford, were each charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine) – and the Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (spice) in addition to Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree, the Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – and Trafficking any Illegal Drug.
