According to Cherokee County Coroner Dr. Jeremy Deaton one person was fatally injured in a three vehicle crash on Highway 9 between Centre and Cedar Bluff just before 4:00 on Friday afternoon.

According to Dr. Deaton the victim has been ideitified as 54 year old Mark McGinley of Centre. McGinley was pronounced dead at the scene.

Early reports are that at least 2 juveniles were also treated for minor injuries as well, the mishap involved a cement truck and Ford pickup truck and an older model SUV hauling what appeared to be a utility trailer, that vehicle was completely overturned as was the trailer.

The Centre Police and Fire Departments, Cherokee EMS, the Cherokee County Rescue Squad and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office along with the Coroner’s Office responded to the scene.
