The body of a man struck and killed by a train last Friday evening in Rome, has been sent to the GBI Crime Lab for identification.
According to Deputy Floyd County Coroner Gene Proctor, that victim was pronounced dead at 8:50pm after being struck by the train on the railroad track near Callahan Street in North Rome.
The victim was described as a black male with a beard, possibly in his 40’s.
He had no identification on him.
Proctor said if anyone has information regarding the possible identity of the man, call 9-1-1 or the Floyd County Coroner’s Office.
