A tractor trailer was hit by a train in Rome on Wednesday.

Rome Police Officials said the truck was stopped at the red light with the rear portion of the trailer on the tracks, as the train came barreling down the track at the crossing on East 2nd Avenue near Riverbend Drive.

Fortunately, no one was hurt during the incident, including the train engineer, even though the collision sent a steel beam through the windshield, narrowly missing him.
