Man Involved in Fatal Accident Now Facing Manslaughter Charge

Kidd 2A 31 year old Jackson, Georgia resident, has been charged with Manslaughter, in connection with an auto accident which claimed the life of a Florida woman last Sunday (August 2nd).

Andrew Phillip Kidd was driving his 2000 Nissan on Highway 278 five miles west of Attalla, when his vehicle collided with a 2008 GMC Acadia just before 10:00am.

According to information provided by State Trooper Chuck Daniel, 75 year old Jacksonville Florida resident Belvia Joan King was fatally injured in the crash. The driver of the GMC, 75 year old Ronald Lowder, also of Jacksonville, was transported to Gadsden Regional Hospital for treatment; Lowder’s wife, Patricia, was taken to the same facility.

Kidd was also transported to Gadsden Regional for treatment.

The collision, which occurred near Mountain Top Flea Market, remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.

Following his arrest, Kidd was released on $50,000 bond.
