A former missionary in Calhoun County has been found guilty on two counts of Sexual Abuse of a child and is likely to be sentenced to life without parole.

34 year old Emanuel Yarbrough testified in his own defense on Wednesday, the victims in the case was between 4 and 6 years old when the alleged incidents occurred.

Yarbrough is accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with the girl in two incidents in Indiana, two in Thailand during a mission trip and one in Oxford.

Anniston Police arrested Yarbrough back in Feburary of 2014 after returning from a mission trip. Yarbrough admitted in court on Wednesday that he needed help but had failed to get it because he felt trapped about losing his family and ministry. Yarbrough will be sentenced in September. He will likely receive life without parole, a mandatory sentence when a sodomy victim is less than 6 years old.

Following the verdict, Yarbrough said he didn’t get a fair trial and vowed to appeal.
