World’s Longest Yard Sale Thursday Through Sunday, August 6th – 9th

The World’s Longest Yard Sale kicks off this Thursday and will run through Sunday (August 6th – 9th). The annual event now stretches more than 690 miles, from Gadsden, Alabama to Addison, Michigan giving both buyers and sellers the opportunity to bargain back and forth on pretty much everything under the sun.

The World’s Longest Yard Sale started back in 1987 and has grown in popularity every year – being featured on HGTV and the Tonight Show as well as USA Today, Newsweek, Southern Living and Country Living.

That route runs a total of 93 miles through Alabama – along the Lookout Mountain Parkway from Gadsden to Chattanooga.

It’s estimated that more than 5,000 vendors will position themselves along the entire route, with around a thousand of those being in Alabama.

Former Alabama Governor Bob Riley, designated the annual “World’s Longest Yard Sale” as one of the “Top 10” events in the state.
