Three individuals have been jailed in Etowah County, in connection with the home invasion that occurred Friday in the 700 block of Merit Springs Road.

James Matthew Ward, age 41; Jennifer Ward, age 39 and Amber Decker, age 41 are all being held without bond in the Etowah County Detention Center.

James Ward was charged with 1st Degree Burglary, Jennifer Ward with 1st Degree Burglary and a Probation Violation, and Decker was charged with Burglary, Drug Possession, and the Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card.

Several of the items were recovered in Cherokee County after Leesburg Police Officer Joe Johnson received a call on Saturday night regarding suspicious activity at the Leesburg Lodge.

According to Leesburg Police Chief Lanny Ransum, Officer Johnson responded to the Lodge and was able to be instrumental in recovering several thousand dollars of stolen property mostly jewelry.

Officers from surrounding counties are working on trying to get items identified and returned to property owners.
