Two Individuals Rescued From High Falls Area of DeKalb County

IMG_0055During the early morning hours of Monday the DeKalb County Sheriffs Office received a call about two people missing in the High Falls area.

DeKalb County Deputies, Geraldine Police, Geraldine Rescue Squad, Members of the Grove Oak Fire Department, Alabama State Troopers and the Trooper Helicopter all responded to the area.

The trooper helicopter located the pair along the creek bank at 4:28am.

Officers and Geraldine Rescue Squad members went into the woods down to the creek and located the two individuals, and they were brought out at 5:17am.

They said they had started fishing at Highway 227 and had been walking down Town Creek toward High Falls, and had simply gotten lost

Fortunately, the two had no injuries.

Sheriff Harris states “Thanks to the Geraldine Police Department, Geraldine Rescue Squad, Grove Oak Fire Department, State Troopers, State Troopers Helicopter, and the Deputies that helped find these two victims. We are glad that they were found safe and unharmed.”
