Calhoun County Correctional Officer Arrested

ScottAccording to Sheriff Larry Amerson a Calhoun County corrections officer is currently facing charges after reportedly having engaged in conversations with inmates through the use of a cell phone that had been smuggled into the facility.

22 year old Wisteria Scott has been charged with a misdemeanor count of failure of duty by a guard.

Jail officials discovered a cell phone in the cell of an inmate at the county jail back in June.

When they obtained records for the phone, they found that calls were being made from that phone to the personal cell phone of a corrections officer.

Around three and a half hours of conversations had gone on during the week or so that the illegal phone was in the jail.

Scott admitted to having a conversation with at least one inmate during the time period but denies having brought the phone into the jail.

She was placed under arrest Friday with bond set at $3,000.
