A DeKalb County man has been charged with a long list of offenses, including kidnapping.

According to information in a news release from the Ft Payne Police Department, at around 3:40am Wednesday the department received a call from a woman saying that she had been assaulted and held against her will by a grandson whom she identified as 33 year old Brian Scott Daniel of Henagar.

While that call was being taken – Officer Derek Killian was conducting a routine traffic stop, and it was quickly determined that the suspect was a passenger in the vehicle.

Also in the vehicle was a female determined to have been a victim of kidnapping by Daniel.

Daniel was taken into custody and charged with two counts of first degree kidnapping, one count of robbery third degree, with one count of theft second degree – and with two counts of domestic violence third degree.

He is currently being held in the Ft Payne City Jail.
