Several stolen vehicles were recovered from the waters of Weiss Lake on Monday morning.
According to Sheriff Shaver, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office recovered 4 stolen vehicles from Weiss Lake after a fisherman spotted something in his side-view sonar near the public boat ramp at Bay Springs and reported it to Sheriff Shaver.
At that time, Cherokee County Rescue Squad divers and personnel were called in to assist in the recovery and worked throughout the day.
Sheriff Jeff Shaver said that the first vehicle appeared to have been stripped, one vehicle was reported stolen in Centre and another reported stolen from Gadsden.
Sheriff Shaver told WEIS Radio News that he wishes to thank the members of the Cherokee County Rescue Squad who worked throughout the day assisting in the recovery operation.
