The investigation into the death of a Chattooga County man at Hays State Prison continues.
According to the Georgia Department of Corrections that individual died as the result of an “accident”, but officials declined to elaborate.
They did identify the victim as a 25 year employee of the facility – Dale Mitchell.
The Chattanooga Times Free Press reported that an unnamed officer at the prison said that Mitchell was fatally injured in an accident while working on the prison grounds.
