UPDATE|Three Victims Airlifted For Treatment Following Two Vehicle Accident North of Centre

Three individuals were airlifted from the scene of a two vehicle accident on Highway 411 North near the Weiss Lake Egg Plant on Sunday afternoon.

According to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Accident reports, the accident occurred at 4:30 two miles south of Centre and involved a 1998 Isuzu driven by 26 year old James Robertson of Centre and a 1995 Mercury driven by 83 year old Audrey Grimes of Centre.

Both Grimes and a passenger in his vehicle, 83 year old Joseph Grimes were flown to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, while Robertson was airlifted from the scene to UAB Hospital in Birmingham

The Cherokee County Rescue Squad, Cherokee EMS, Centre Police & Firefighters and Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Officers responded to the scene.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
