Several Car Break-In’s & Burglaries Reported In Rome

Rome police are investigating an attempted break-in at the Medicine Shoppe located at 411 W. Tenth Street over the weekend.

According to a Rome police report, officers responded to a burglary alarm shortly after midnight Saturday. When they arrived, they found the alarm going off and the front door busted. The estimated damage to the door is $500.

In a separate incident, two vehicles were damaged at the Riverbend shopping center on Turner McCall Boulevard on Saturday night.

According to a Rome police report, one person said the window of her truck was busted. Another person reported someone broke out the rear driver side window of her truck, taking several kids toys from the backseat.

No suspects were located.

Last week four vehicles parked at the Movies at Mount Berry Square were burglarized.

One man said a gun and holster was taken from his vehicle while another person said thieves took her purse and wallet, which contained $500 in cash.

No one has been arrested in connection with that case. Police have advised residents to lock their cars and not leave valuables inside.
