Mr. John McKinley Hurley, Jr.

John McKinley Hurley, Jr. age 86, of Cedar Bluff, Farill Community passed away Monday June 15, 2015 in Cherokee Medical Center in Centre.

Mr. Hurley was born December 16, 1928 in Cherokee County, Alabama a son of the late, John McKinley Hurley, Sr. and Esmer Hartline Hurley. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church, retired from General Electric after 35 years of service, veteran of the Korean War serving with the United States Army. Mr. Hurley was preceded in death by, brother Hoyt Hurley, and a sister, Sybil Tallent.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Waits Hurley, son, Dale (Sue) Hurley, Rome; daughter, Debra Brown, Tampa, Fl; Vanessa Wilson, Canton; Katrina (Larry) McCord, Silver Creek; 5 grandchildren, Tonya Plant, Lauren Jones, Cody Hurley, Jason McCord, and Tyler Trapp, 6 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Friday June 19, 2015 at Parnick Jennings, Sr.’s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, with Rev. Jim Van Pelt officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until the hour of the service on Friday at Parnick Jennings, Sr.’s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.

Pallbearers include the following gentlemen, Jason McCord, Tyler Trapp, Matt Plant, Troy Culberson, Bo Teague, and Cody Hurley.

Parnick Jennings, Sr.’s Good Shepherd Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
