The Coosa Town Center was evacuated for an extended period of time on Friday after a suspicious backpack was found outside of the PETCO Store near a garbage can.
Gadsden Police responded to the scene and an evacuation was ordered for several stores including GameStop, Rue 21, Old Navy, TJ Maxx, & The Shoe Dept.
The remaining stores, Firehouse Subs, Burkes Outlet and Wal-Mart remained open.
It turns out that the backpack was full of small food items (crackers, Vienna sausages, etc). Possibly belonged/homeless person and the scene was cleared.
