Calhoun County Woman Dies in Wednesday Morning Accident

A 23 year old Calhoun County woman was fatally injured in a two-vehicle wreck during the early morning hours of Wednesday.

According to Coroner Pat Brown, Josette Boyer died after being thrown from a pickup truck which collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Hamric Drive and Williams Street at approximately 5:30am.

Reports indicate that Boyer, who was a passenger in the truck, wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
