The Coosa River Crappie Club and Anglers Unlimited hosted a special day for Cherokee County’s youth. The “Kid’s Day on the Weiss Lake” was held Saturday at the old location for Lake Shore Motel on Hwy. 68 in Cedar Bluff.
A large number of children ages 4 thru 12 were in attendance for a morning of fishing, hot dogs & cold drinks for lunch with trophies awarded to the top 3 in each age group for biggest fish caught. The first 100 pre-registered kids received a free rod & reel or pre-rigged cane pole complete with bait, floats, hooks, line, etc.
There will be Coosa River Crappie Club & Anglers Unlimited volunteers on duty to assist kids fishing, providing bait, weighing fish caught, and safety oversight. The event was held on the banks of Weiss Lake off of Hwy 68 at old Lakeshore Motel Location – between Cedar Bluff and Gaylesville.
