24 year old Ferlandous LaShawn Dobbins from Gadsden has been jailed in connection with a Wednesday night shooting which left another man hospitalized.

Dobbins was arrested and charged with Assault 1st Degree after allegedly shooting the 26 year old victim in the lower abdomen around 8:30 that night in the area of Springdale Road

The injured man told police the shooter was wearing camouflage overalls, and was riding a four-wheeler, when the incident occurred; police found a 9mm shell casing at the scene.

Dobbins was taken into custody a short time later, after being found sitting on a front porch at a home in the 300 block of Springdale Road.

During questioning, it was revealed that the two men had been in an argument which soon escalated into violence.

Dobbins is being held in the Etowah County Detention Center without bond.
