GADSDEN STATE ANNOUNCES SUMMER HOURS

GADSDEN, ALA.–Gadsden State Community College will observe summer operating hours beginning Monday, May 11 through Friday, August 7. The summer hours will be Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and the College will be closed on Fridays. Some buildings will be operational on Fridays for classes and to support selected programs and activities. All summer camp programs will adhere to the schedule with the exception of athletic camps and Camp Cardinal (Ayers, Cherokee, and Wallace Drive campuses). The college will be closed for annual holiday observances on Monday, May 25 for Memorial Day and Thursday, July 2 for Independence Day.

FREE WORKSHOP FOR VETERANS

GADSDEN, ALA.–The Gadsden State Community College Veterans Upward Bound Program will host a free workshop for veterans May 19. Tech Tuesday BYOD: Learn to use iPad/iPod Touch will be held at Beck Field House on the Wallace Drive Campus from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Military veterans will receive assistance learning to use the latest technology devices. Enrollment at Gadsden State or any other college or university is not mandatory in order to participate. Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) is a TRiO program funded 100% by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education. GSCC OFFERS ACT PREP CAMPS

GADSDEN, ALA.–The Gadsden State Community College Continuing Education Department will offer two ACT Prep Camps May 26-28 and June 8-11. By taking advantage of the ACT Prep Camp, high school students will have an opportunity to prepare for the 2015-2016 testing dates which begin September 12. Prep classes will be offered in 2-day sessions from 1 to 4 p.m. at Brown Hall on the East Broad Campus in Gadsden. The cost is $75.00 per student and due to limited space pre-registration is required. MCCLELLAN BOOKWORMS MEETING MAY 28

ANNISTON, ALA.–The McClellan Bookworms will meet Thursday, May 28 at noon for a brown bag lunch event in the McClellan Center Library in Anniston. The book of the month is _Daughters of the Dragon_ by William Andrews. DRIVER’S EDUCATION CLASSES OFFERED AT GSCC

GADSDEN, ALA.–Driver’s Education classes will be offered this summer through the Continuing Education Department at Gadsden State Community College. Classes will be held at the following locations: Ayers Campus (Anniston) June 8-11; Gadsden State Cherokee (Centre) June 15-18, 22-25 and July 13-16; and the East Broad Campus (Gadsden) July 6-9. Classes will meet each day from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost for the class is $175.00 per person and certificates will be awarded after completion of the class.
