A former Floyd County School System employee has agreed to pay back $30,000 that he withdrew from his bank account while the state was seizing his property under the Georgia RICO statute.

According to a consent order filed Monday, Derry Richardson will remit the money to the receivership estate, and the receiver has withdrawn a previous motion for a hearing which had been scheduled for Tuesday.

According to court documents, the state and Richardson’s attorneys have also agreed to an extension of the temporary restraining order and the appointment of a temporary receiver through June 15th.

Richardson and others had allegedly engaged in and committed at least two or more acts of racketeering activity in violating state law relating to theft against the school system.
