A man driving to work Friday morning near Piedmont suddenly discovered his stolen truck following him, Calhoun County.
Chief Deputy Matthew Wade said the incident happened on Alabama 9 near Piedmont. A man had his truck stolen in Cherokee County. Later, as he drove to work, he noticed his stolen truck following him.
After he called law enforcement, a Calhoun County deputy attempted to stop the vehicle. The driver did not stop, and a pursuit ensued. Wade said the driver crashed the vehicle, which ejected him. The truck rolled a short distance.
The driver got up and continued to flee, and a foot chase began. However, the deputy eventually caught up with Terry Anthony Proctor, 29, of Piedmont.
Proctor faces several charges in Calhoun and Cherokee counties, and the City of Piedmont.
