The robbery investigation of the Dollar General in Wellington has resulted in the arrest of Stevie Dwayne Dodd a 22 year old black male from Wellington for the offense of Robbery 1st Degree.
According to Calhoun County Chief Deputy Matthew Wade, the arrest was possible due to the fast actions of a citizen that observed the get-a-way vehicle.
The citizen’s bravery and willingness to get involved allowed for an accurate description of the vehicle.
Deputies working the investigation observed the suspect vehicle traveling on Hwy 21 in Jacksonville and conducted a traffic stop leading to the arrest.
This is a great example of citizens and law enforcement working together. Subsequent information has led to information about other crimes committed in Jacksonville.
Dodd’s court date is set for May 28 at 1:30p.m.
