In response to a strong statement made by Centre Mayor Tony Wilkie during a special called meeting on Monday – Councilman Marc Johnson and Derrick Wheeler issued their rebuttal to the Mayor’s comments.

In other business the council heard quarterly reports from each of the city’s department heads, approving the purchase of a new grill for the Dixie Youth Concession stand at a cost of $1,224.
The council also approved the purchase of a new Administrative Department vehicle in the amount of $23,470.50 to be purchased from the state bid list.
A public Hearing was held pertaining to the rezoning of property located at 335 North River Street owned by Lynn Keener – there being no opposition, the council unanimously approved the measure.
