Accident on Highway 68 Wednesday Morning / UPDATED

Three people were hurt in a two-vehicle accident early Wednesday morning in Leesburg.

According to Leesburg Police Chief Lanny Ransum, that wreck took place on Highway 68 at 8:55am and involved a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser, driven by Larry Beck – and a 2009 Chevy Cobalt, being driven by Doris Kidd.

Beck, along with a passenger in his vehicle, was taken to Gadsden Regional for treatment – meanwhile Kidd was transported to Cherokee Medical Center.

The Leesburg Fire Department and Cherokee EMS also responded to the scene.

Chief Ransum stated that Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Trooper Jamey Johnson was called in to provide assistance.
