According to Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin – two men were arrested and charged in connection to a burglary and theft of property.
Investigator Robin Grant says that 26 year old Bennett Lee Wesson of Attalla, is charged with one count of third degree burglary, which is a felony and 44 year old Christopher George Salster of Gadsden, is charged with one count of second degree receiving stolen property, also a felony.
Wesson and Salster allegedly broke into a storage building, in November 2014, located behind a residence on Vickey Lane, Boaz. The victim noticed the burglary and reported it to the Sheriff’s Office in January 2015. Several firearms and a violin were reported stolen.
During the course of the investigation, investigator Grant recovered the antique violin in a local pawn shop. The violin, valued at approximately $600, was returned to the rightful owner.
Wesson is being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $2,500 bond. Salster was booked into the detention center and later released on $2,500 bond.
