It appears lawyers will indeed be called into action in regard to the sewer system upgrade in Leesburg.

During the Monday meeting of the Leesburg Town Council a measure was approved to take legal action against the contractor who has been doing the upgrade; the council authorized Mayor Ed Mackey to write a letter informing the party of legal action to be taken if the crew is not back on the job by May 1st.

The mayor and town attorney will now follow up on the action.

In other business, the council voted to move Leesburg Day from the park area next door to the fire department, to the Leesburg Landing area on the banks of Weiss Lake.

Leesburg Day is held the second Saturday in September each year.

The next meeting of the Leesburg Town Council will take place on May 4th at 5:00pm in the council chambers at Leesburg Town Hall.
