Mr. Rife Gossett age 87 of Sand Rock formerly of Alexis Community passed away Monday April 6th at his residence.
Funeral services will be 1 PM Wednesday April 8th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harold O’Neal officiating, burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Tuesday.
Survivors include wife, Frances Matthews Gossett of Sand Rock; sons, Freddie (Pam) Gossett of Alexis and James (Gail) Gossett of Alexis; daughters, Ailene (Jimmy) Tucker of Sand Rock, Sandy (Randy Webb) Gossett of Centre and Gladys Doss of Cedar Bluff; 10 Grandchildren; 22 Great-Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Gossett was preceded in death by his daughters, Diane Gossett and Pamela Holcomb; brothers, Fred Jr., Lamar, Phillip, Neal, Coleman and Glenn Gossett; sisters, Marie Galloway, Bell Hart, Virginia Flynt and Margaret Lewis.
Mr. Gossett was a native of Cherokee County and the son of the late Fred and Mary Phillips Gossett.
