A police chase across Chattooga County Monday afternoon resulted in a Summerville man being jailed on a number of charges.

An officer with the Georgia Motor Carrier Compliance Division was in pursuit of the vehicle being driven by James Penson, Jr., of an Orchard Road address, until that chase ended near the intersection of Martin Dairy Road and the Trion/Teloga Road.

Penson was charged with Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police Officers, Reckless Driving, Driving on a Suspended or Revoked License and a seatbelt violation.
