Mrs. Maude Alice Whorton, age 86 of Centre, passed away Saturday, February 14th at Anniston Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 7:PM Tuesday, February 17th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Brett Clements, Rev. Rodger Whorton and Dr. Doug New officiating; burial will be 10:AM Wednesday at Noah Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7:PM Tuesday.

Pallbearers include Wallace Wilson, Tommy Pierce, Ty Prater, Jimmy Whorton, Ronnie Whorton, Kenneth Dobbs. Honorary Pallbearers will be Shannon Page, Joey Oliver, Chris Reaves and the Deacons Of New Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include son, Randall Douglas (Marcella) Whorton of Anniston; daughter, Nina (Ron) Ericson of Northport; grandchildren, Amy Reaves, Heather Page, Christy Oliver, Nathan Keys, Taylor Roden and Logan Roden; 11 great grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry William Whorton; daughter, Pamela Roden; grandson, Bradley Cade Roden; brothers, George Pierce, Emmitt Pierce, Olan Pierce and sisters, Annie Frances Wilson, Shirley Stewart and Louise Marks.

Mrs. Whorton was a native of Cherokee County, the daughter of the late George and Clara Garrett Pierce and was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Noah Cemetery Fund.
