Man Charged with Child Pornography after Inappropriate Photos Found on Cell Phone

EnnisA Boaz man has been arrested in connection with a lost cell phone possibly containing child pornography.

Police say someone found a cell phone in the parking lot of a business – and they attempted to learn the identity of the owner so they could arrange to have the phone returned; during a search of the phone that person encountered images believed to be inappropriate photos of children. They then contacted the Boaz Police Department and turned the phone over to them; they in turn, obtained a search warrant for the phone.

The Electronic Crimes Task Force in Hoover conducted a forensic analysis of the cell phone and did indeed, discover child pornography.

They also determined that the phone belonged to Kenneth Wayne Ennis; he was arrested at his home on Thursday morning and he was charged with four counts of Possession of Child Pornography and four counts of the Production of Child Pornography.

Computers and electronic devices were seized during the search of his home and additional charges could be forthcoming pending the outcome of the computer analysis.

He remains in the Marshall County Jail with bond set at $500,000.
