SAND ROCK – Sand Rock’s basketball seasons came to heartbreaking conclusions Tuesday night at home against Plainview in Class 3A Sub-Regional action.
The fifth-ranked Lady Wildcats fell by the final of 72-68. The Wildcat boys dropped a 48-47 contest.
In the girls’ game, Madison McCullough led three Lady Wildcats (25-5) in double figures. She finished with 18 points, six rebounds and four assists. Emily Langley added 15 points and a pair of steals. Sabryn Chandler contributed 14 points, 12 rebounds, an assist and a steal. Courtney Rowe finished with nine points, seven steals, six assists and two rebounds.
The Lady Bears (26-7) advance to meet Glencoe (18-14) in the Northeast Regional Tournament semifinals on Monday at 3 p.m.
