Anniston Army Depot to Cut 190 Jobs by the End of April

Depot Jobs 1The Anniston Army Depot has announced plans to lay off around 190 employees – citing a decline in work at the installation.

During a Thursday afternoon press conference Army officials stated that their workload for the year has turned out to be less than expected and as a result, cuts will have to be made – with the layoff of those 190 temporary workers taking place by the end of April (2015).

The Depot, which is staffed by roughly 2,900 government civilians, four military personnel and a total of 662 contractors – provides industrial and technological support in equipping and sustaining joint war-fighters and allies.
