Floyd County Deputy Coroner Gene Proctor has identified the man whose body was found under the South Broad Street Bridge as 24 year old James Kirby, whose last known address was Mineral Bluff, Georgia.
A passerby spotted the body shortly before 1:00pm and flagged down police.
Proctor said there was a quantity of pills found underneath the bridge – but the exact cause of death is not known.
The body is being sent to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy.
Procter said he body did not appear to have any trauma.
