2nd Annual VEX Robotics Competition Comes to Gadsden State Cherokee on Saturday

VEXX 5The big 2nd Annual VEX Robotics Competition sponsored by the Cherokee County Career & Tech Center is right around the corner and WEIS Radio welcomed the Career & Tech Center Principal, Brett Keasler, and Keith Tolbert with the Electronics Department at the school to the studios on Tuesday morning to discuss this weekend’s highly-anticipated event.

VEXX 4The competition kicks off at 9:00 Saturday (January 31st) morning, and is being held in the arena on the campus of Gadsden State Cherokee in Centre.

This year’s middle school challenge is being referred to as “HIGHRISE” with the high school challenge going by the name “SKYRISE”.

VEXX 3Teams attending the event will be coming from far and wide to take part, and pit their skills against other school students. Not only does that robotics program at the Cherokee County Career & Tech Center make learning fun, it provides young people with an important leg-up when it comes to creating career skills that will be in huge demand from now on.
