A Veteran Officer in Anniston was struck by a vehicle while attempting to stop traffic.
According to Capitan Allen George, the incident occurred on Thursday between 6:30PM and 6:45PM while the officer was working a single vehicle accident in the 2500 block of McClellan Blvd.
The Officer, a twenty year veteran, was attempting to stop northbound traffic when he was struck by a Toyota Corolla. The vehicle left the scene, but has since been located and the driver identified.
The Officer is currently being treated at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center. The case is still under investigation by the Anniston PD Special Operations Unit.
