Firefighters responded to a report of a Garage fire at a residence on County Road 385 in the Bay Springs area on Monday afternoon.

The fire completely destroyed the structure including a pick-up truck and a lawnmower.
According to Fire Officials on the scene, the homeowner said that he was burning leaves near the lake when the wind got into the fire causing it to spread through the yard and into the garage.
Firefighters from the Leesburg, Sand Rock and Centre Departments responded to the scene along with Centre Police and Cherokee County Fire Investigator Shawn Rogers.
No one was injured during the blaze – the incident remains under investigation.
