Leesburg Man Charged with Stealing Vehicle in Floyd County, Georgia

ForresterOn Tuesday the Leesburg Police Department recovered a vehicle that had been stolen from Floyd County, Georgia.

Leesburg Police Chief Lanny Ransum informed WEIS Radio News the vehicle was found off of Park Street; quick investigative work led to the arrest of a 42 year old Leesburg resident.

James Richard Forrester was taken into custody, and he was charged with Receiving Stolen Property 1st Degree in connection with the case.

Chief Ransum added that Forrester also had some Failure to Appear traffic warrants out of Cherokee County and an investigation into the stolen vehicle is on-going with more charges possibly coming later in relation to another case of a stolen vehicle.

Forrester currently remains in the Cherokee County Detention Center.
