One thing is certain – is seems like scammers are just not going to give up when it comes to trying to steal from unsuspected victims.

On Tuesday WEIS Radio News received yet another report of a local resident which was smart enough to know better when scammers contacted him on several different occasions informing him that he had won $5,000.

The intended victim told WEIS Radio News that the caller had identified himself as John West and even went as far as to give an identification number and ID Code – the caller told the victim that he could either be awarded his money privately or they could bring TV cameras and reporters to his door.

Not falling for any of the flashy antics he provided us with two different phone numbers that he was receiving calls from – both of which appear to have been rerouted from Jamaica.

We attempted to call “Mr. West” in an attempt to help the intended victim collect his winnings and this is what we got –

As we have told you time and time again, if it seems too good to be true it probably is – the best way to avoid be taken advantage of is to simply hang up.
